Centrally Located

Centrally located for easy access to downtown Seattle by ferry and Olympic Peninsula by car. Forget the traffic leave your car behind walk on the ferry to Seattle waterfront. Spend a day downtown then leave the city behind when you’ve had enough.Maybe the next day you could go to the open ocean beaches (our house is inland waters). Then the next day up to the Olympic peninsula Olympic mountains ,Hurricane ridge (5000 ft. above sea level in the mountains 15 mile drive from sea level). Accessible by car this mountain top view on a clear day cannot be described. The next day maybe go out on our large and comfortable Coast Guard certified charter boat fishing for salmon when you get back to the house fish for sea run cutthroat trout from the house on your private deck (in season). We have casting poles you can use. If the tide is right we can pick you up in the boat or take you by van in the morning. Our galley style kitchen is well equipped for cooking fish, crab, clams, oysters etc..

if you need that cozy window to snuggle up to a book that other rentals talk about our deck over the water with western exposure to sunsets on the Olympic Mountains should do but you might have to book a second week to find time or so some of my repeat guests have said. The beach and the kayaks could be another day especially for the kids. Just some suggestions for fun but don’t take our word for it check out our many great reviews via VRBO below even the bad one lol, if its granite counter tops, formal dining room and a two car garage you’re looking for, that’s not us. This place is very rustic.  Originally built in 1911.

That chirping noise at night out on the deck is the family of otters on the floating dock underneath the pier. The seal noise you hear are the sea-lions in the shipyard directly across the water, well usually one very noisy one, the others aren’t as noisy. That stupid bird chirping that sounds like parakeets, those are bald eagles. To go outside and scream “you filthy flying rats” will immediately bring you 50 seagulls, if you put a handful of dry dog food on the  6 inch railing you will get a bird on each side and what we call “stacking” (a seagull standing on those seagulls). The decks are covered for your protection. In the indoor/outdoor hot tub room on the large side you can experience Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”. This is either terrifying or amusing especially to your family pet, you throw a handful or more of dry dog food on top of the clear corrugated roof while someone or your pet is in that room, it’s hysterical or terrifying. You’ll see fish jump and lots of different birds we have also set up a little tidal pool underneath the house for when the tide is out and a cold salt-water tank of fish and crabs from the bay on the large side that have been there a long time and are very healthy. It’s like having pets without worrying about a Vet bill.
